All Alone
Written by: lord_hade
we watched as the fields
withered and decayed
Devil's Apple was all that stood
in fields once full of life

we listened as the sounds
of insects faded far from life
desolate carcasses litter our home
did they ever have a chance

still outside I hear no sounds
nor see the plants that once filled my memories
life seemed to leave this place
in one bitter empty night

what were we left with
our hopes and dreams and lives
but all hope of our dreams ever coming
have lost all of their life

and so we lay in an empty sea of dead grass
to await new life and ponder what we left
madness held us tight
with each remorseful song we sang

we left our home and old possesions
roamed as far as we could
until at last we saw daylight
20 years since the last

we knew this is where we were meant to be
but as we neared the village we found
it was just like the rest
no life to speak of, only empty dead

she collapsed in pain
now even her hope wasting away
she swore we'd never find anything
she swore she'd rather die

I picked her up and urged her on
but she had no will to go on
she just sank back to the ground
wanting to rot like the rest

I pleaded with her
but still she refused
and then at last
she said her final sad goodbye

she told me that we'd meet again soon
somewhere beyond this emptiness
that there was a place somewhere out there
where we could finish up our lives

she held my hand tight
as she slowly slipped away
the pain in her eyes subsiding
she was so near the end

when she reached the end
she looked deep into my eyes
and smiled the warmest smile
I'd ever seen in my life

and then she was gone
just like evertything else
I held onto her body for days
I could not let it be real

she had to come back to me
or I would soon follow
she was my strength and my sanity
now she is my leader, and I must follow along

the pain was growing inside me all this time
no food or water for several days maybe even weeks
I saw the end was coming fast
as I lay there next to her

her last dying words echo in my ears
I never thought that I would be so week
until it finally hit me
I swam along the stream of life, but nothing was around

what has left all of this nothingness
and death in our world
the questions came but never any answers
and so I layed and welcomed in my death

I watched as the stars, all fell to earth
lucky I suppose to go out this way than that
darkness crossed over me
as I layed there stiff and dying

when the light was all gone
I felt myself again
and above me stood a great tall man
hooded in black that told me I was gone

where was the land of life
I asked him when I had the chance
"there is none, all you have is this"
"you believed in nothing and so in the end it's what you are"

"but I believed in her" I cried
as the man was leaving me
I knew that I was all alone for all eternity
"but I believed in her"
