Angel in the Street - yes, a new one (really)
Written by: bleeding_corpse
Since I apparently can post stuff i'm using for assignments online, I decided to post this. It's still a work in progress, and I probably won't post the finished version, but I figured some poeple might be interested in reading this version of it.

Angel in the Street

In darkest urban place
glowing like starshine,
distant radiance
masked by depths of pain.

In the park she cursed
her world and screamed
silently at a life that
cared not for her dreams.

In the street alone she
flowed through heaving crowds,
hating shop fronts and posters;
mortal traps for mundane minds.

A shadow she became,
an after-image fleeting
on the edge of vision and
the shape taking the seat.

Beneath cells and flaring
nerves she claimed to be
queen of a brighter place,
not a realm of grey.

They would-be angel
with her bitter heart
burning at what is not,
and she hurts.
