Camp Fire

Camp Fire

I remember arriving at our campsite, just before dawn

And me and my brother all wired up from the candy our parents gave us.

I remember hearing the crickets right before we stepped on them… “Squish”

I remember seeing our parents as they up the tent

And as the ever so cheap Wal*Mart tent collapsed, my parents looked over the instructions once again…

I remember my brother and I collecting sticks to put marshmallow’s on

And every time we put the marshmallows in the fire…they’d burn to little crisps

And I remember burning my tongue on the extremely hot-burnt marshmallows… “Ouch”

I remember the camp fire being too close to the tent…. oh no, there goes the tent…

Watch it burn…. watch it burn to little pieces of cheap plastic from Wal*Mart… that was the last time I ever went camping…
