Written by: Sanity's Shadow
This poem means a lot to me...'twas written for an ex...I broke his heart, then when I realised my mistake...it was too late for a reconciliation. I have never felt so much emotional pain in my life, and it was self inflicted. Being young at the time (18 ) I wanted more than anything to hurt him again in return, and make him unable to ever love again. We'd been together 2 and a half years.

Fortunately I failed, and we remain strong friends to this day. He will never see this poem. It still hurts to read it myself.

I never came up with a title, and never will.

:

Her heart is like glass;
most dangerous
when
broken.

A garden of shattered dreams,
she walks barefoot.
She feels no pain
from the shards of
her own
glass
rose.

A bouqet of nevermores,
she clutches to her.
The slivers of glass
slowly slice through
her own
trembling
fingers.

All you have done to her,
she wishes on you.
The fragments
you
split
when you
broke
her heart
will cut your own
in
two.
