Hydra
Written by: Sanity's Shadow
Well, here's another poem I wrote a week or two ago... the title refers to the many "me"s...who at the moment seem irreconcilable. When I wrote it, I was trying to give a view of what the inside of my head is like...too many "me"s, not enough "I"...the "real me" (whoever that may be, I'm not too sure) struggling against the "me"'s that have been brought to life by others, and will not die. Again, it makes little sense, but I understand it. I guess it's a cry for my lost identity. I hope you enjoy it:

Hydra.

I am just one voice amongst many,
A symphony of discontent.
A desperate urge to be heard
above the noise.

A lonely girl, stood in a crowd,
A gathering of regret.
No-one stops to stare,
We are all the same here.

A lost cry, all but swallowed by
countless utterances.
A final urgent bid
to stifle the uncounted.

I am many, a mass of us.
We are lonely, a crush of faces.

Ripped asunder, and torn apart,
we reform as one.
We know who you are,
and how you feel.
we shall drown you with us,
to make us real.
